1967 - Most recent heavy May snowstorm: Northfield 9", Burlington 2.6", Montpelier 6", Rochester 2", Mt. Mansfield 33 max/27 min.
2011 - Very heavy rain falling on already saturated ground caused flash flooding in central and northeast Vermont. Plainfield recorded 5.22" in about 6 hours. Several other location received more than 4 inches of rain. Golf ball sized hail also fell during severe thunderstorms.
