1886 - Strong south wind caused ice breakup and snow melt; Winooski River flooded streets of Montpelier and Berlin; railroad bridge carried out; high floods on Lamoille and northern Connecticut tributaries; railroad lines cut.
1997 - Late season nor'easter dumped heavy snow in southern Vermont. West Wardsboro 23 inches, 12 inches at Shaftsbury and Grafton.
