1862 - Major storm of snowy winter: Burlington 20", Craftsbury 19.5", Lunenburg 17"; storm built up very deep snow cover with high flood potential; thick crust preserved great depth until mid-April.
1983 - Record deep late-season snowstorm on 16-17th; Burlington had 15.6" total, Mt. Mansfield 16", Waterbury 14.4".
